ZIRS 13th Edition  

Embracing Research and Innovation for Sustainable
Industrialisation

The 13th Edition of the ZIRS themed, “Embracing Research and Innovation for Sustainable
Industrialisation” pursues the National Development Strategy 1 and Vision 2030. The 13th ZIRS echoes the progress that the Zimbabwe Research Council, (RCZ) has achieved since the first symposium. The 13th ZIRS will be held in Harare at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) from the 4th to the 6th October 2023.

ZIRS 13 Edition

This Symposium provides a platform for discussion of socio-economic solutions in Social Sciences and Humanities, Sustainable Environmental and Resource Management in Zimbabwe, Promoting and Maintaining Good Health, and National Security of Zimbabwe. The area of social sciences and humanities seeks to establish understanding of who we are as a nation, what we want, need and where we want to be in the future. Directing research to deliberately shape our future. In sustainable environmental and resource management in Zimbabwe the seeks to improve the way we utilize our land, water, mineral and energy resources through a better understanding of human and environmental systems and the use of new production technologies, as well as aerospace and other sensing technologies.

13TH ZIRS OBJECTIVES

1. To provide a platform for nurturing relationships between industry and academia fornational sustainable development and shaping of the National Research Agenda.
2. To facilitate increased transfer of knowledge, from knowledge generators to knowledge users (Industry, entrepreneurs, investors).
3. To bring to the fore research outputs with commercial value. 

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Abstracts were accepted for the 13th Zimbabwe International Research Symposium (ZIRS) to be hosted by the Research Council of Zimbabwe (RCZ). The Symposium will be held in Victoria Falls from 4-6 October 2023. Abstracts can be submitted for either oral or poster presentations. Authors must specify whether they prefer to make oral or poster presentations, taking into account that space for poster presentations is limited.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The Awards will be given at the Symposium to be held at the Harare International Conference Centre from 4- 6 October
2023

 Nominations for awards are being invited from individuals, groups, companies and communities who have done outstanding research and or innovation in their areas of specialisation and have registered success in employing Research and Development (R&D) or commercialisation of research results.
